First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do
not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind
prior to writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations
or hints? Thank you!
It’s easiest for me to have a dedicated time set aside on the calendar and begin with an idea of which chapter or episode or passage is the focus for that space. I look at time spent thinking or daydreaming or analyzing or going off on random tangents as just as important for me as writing text, whether that takes 5-10 minutes or more it still fees like productive time. Usually I end up visualizing the action like scenes and perspectives in a movie and then describing them as detailed as possible, then paring it down to the stuff that works with the story through the editing process.
